Advanced Rework Technology Ltd. (A.R.T. Ltd.), a leading provider of IPC-certified training and an IPC authorised distributor, is supporting the transition to IPC/WHMA-A-620 Revision F with updated training materials for cable and wire harness assembly.
IPC/WHMA-A-620 is the industry standard for requirements and acceptance of cable and wire harness assemblies. Widely used throughout the electronics manufacturing industry, it provides guidance covering areas such as cable preparation, crimping, soldering, splicing, shielding, marking, inspection and testing.
Revision F introduces several updates to improve alignment with current industry practices and enhance clarity throughout the standard. Changes include refinements to definitions and terminology to better align with related IPC standards, such as IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001, as well as enhancements to criteria and updates to illustrations. Many figures have been refreshed or newly added to support the requirements described within the document.
Debbie McDade, Managing Director of A.R.T. Ltd., said: “IPC/WHMA-A-620 is widely used throughout the electronics manufacturing industry to support consistent workmanship and inspection practices. With Revision F introducing updates across several areas of the standard, it is important that those responsible for manufacturing, inspection and training have access to clear, current and practical training resources.”
The updated training materials have been developed to support the changes introduced in Revision F while enhancing the overall learning experience. Improvements include revised visual content, expanded instructor resources and additional supporting materials designed to help reinforce key concepts and support consistent interpretation of the standard. The programme also incorporates embedded videos and enhanced interactive features to aid understanding and practical application.
A.R.T. works closely with the Global Electronics Association and the wider electronics manufacturing industry to support standards development, training and certification, helping organisations keep pace with evolving industry requirements and best practice.
