AGC Chemicals Americas, Inc., (AGCCA) introduces AFLAS® SF-FFKM grades designed to support more sustainable manufacturing while meeting the demanding performance requirements of semiconductor equipment applications. Produced without surfactants or fluorosolvents, these new materials are engineered to provide outstanding plasma resistance, exceptional purity and minimal outgassing, making them ideal for use in ultra-durable seals for advanced semiconductor processing.

The introduction of AFLAS SF-FFKM grades reflects AGC’s ongoing commitment to developing high-performance materials that help customers meet evolving environmental and process requirements. AFLAS FFKM is recognized as one of the most durable fluoroelastomers available, providing excellent resistance to extreme temperatures, aggressive chemicals and plasma exposure. These new grades are produced using AGC’s proprietary surfactant-free polymerization technology, supporting semiconductor manufacturers’ efforts to reduce environmental impact while maintaining performance.

The new product lineup includes:

  • AFLAS SF-5000, a nitrile-curable grade designed for high thermal resistance in semiconductor etching processes where plasma is required. It shows a significant advantage of low sticking force and low cool set. This grade can withstand continuous-use temperatures up to 270 °C (518 °F).
  • AFLAS SF-5500, a nitrile-curable grade that achieves a hardness of 70 without the addition of fillers that could cause contamination. Its excellent plasma resistance makes it ideal for use in semiconductor etching processes. This grade can withstand continuous-use temperatures up to 300 °C (572 °F).
