MIRTEC, ‘The Global Leader in Inspection Technology,’ today announced that it is the recipient of the 2026 Global Technology Award in the AOI Inspection Systems category for its revolutionary GENESYS-CC AI Based Conformal Coating AOI Series. The award was presented during a ceremony held on Tuesday, October 27 during the SMTA International exhibition in Rosemont, IL.
The GENESYS-CC AI Based Conformal Coating AOI Series redefines the capabilities of conformal coating inspection in the electronics manufacturing industry. Developed specifically to address challenging coating inspection requirements, the system combines shadow-free UV image acquisition, high-resolution side-view inspection, and AI-driven defect detection to provide manufacturers with comprehensive inspection capabilities.
A key differentiator of the GENESYS-CC is its advanced multi-angle UV illumination architecture, which combines Coaxial UV Light with vertical and angled UV lighting. This approach helps eliminate shadow effects and enables clear image acquisition between tall components and complex PCB structures. As a result, GENESYS-CC can inspect coating conditions in areas that conventional or single-angle UV inspection systems may not reliably see, providing enhanced coverage and non-coverage detection.
The system also features 18MP high-resolution side cameras for lateral conformal coating inspection. This capability enables inspection of component sides, connectors, and J-leads, helping identify uncoated areas, splatters, bubbles, and cracks that may not be fully visible through top-view inspection alone.
The GENESYS-CC Series is also equipped with MIRTEC’s Exclusive 15MP CoaxPress Camera Technology, four 18MP Side-Angle Cameras, and an optional Internal PCB Flipper Conveyor for Double Sided PCB Inspection. Leveraging artificial intelligence, the system delivers precision and accuracy in evaluating conformal coating conditions, including coating thickness, coverage, and uniformity. Its intelligent inspection capabilities help manufacturers identify defects and anomalies efficiently, minimizing the risk of coating failures and supporting consistent product quality.
