Kurtz Ersa Inc., a leading supplier of electronics production equipment, is pleased to announce that it won two Mexico Technology Awards. The Auto Scavenger Module for the Ersa Rework System HR 600 XL won in the Rework & Repair category while the HOTFLOW THREE won in the Soldering Equipment – Reflow category. The awards were announced during a ceremony that took place on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 during SMTA Guadalajara in Mexico.
The Auto Scavenger Module is a valuable extension for the Ersa HR 600 XL rework platform, enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of non-contact residual solder removal from circuit boards. With just three clicks, users can specify the area where residual solder needs removal, allowing the module to automatically identify the required tracks and initiate the cleaning process while keeping the board preheated. Cleaning speeds range from 1-3 mm/s, and users can fine-tune the process by adjusting parameters like nitrogen temperature and track speed, saving individual profiles for customized cleaning.
Operating with a constant base temperature for the entire assembly, the module uses an N2-fed hot gas nozzle to heat the solder and a vacuum nozzle to extract it, all without physically touching the assembly thanks to automatic height control. Users can designate “keep out areas” in the live image to exclude regions from suction. Once the solder removal is complete, the assembly is efficiently cooled down, ready for the seamless reinstallation of components.
The groundbreaking HOTFLOW THREE is a reflow soldering system that sets new standards for quality, efficiency, flexibility, connectivity and maintenance. It is designed to set new standards in the industry with its state-of-the-art technology and exceptional performance. Key features include advanced thermal profiling, energy efficiency, innovative cooling zone, user-friendly interface, and a compact design that makes it suitable for production lines with limited space.
Engineered for exceptional durability, the HOTFLOW THREE can operate continuously for extended periods of time without maintenance intervals, setting a new industry benchmark. This remarkable performance is made possible by Kurtz Ersa’s patented three-stage SMART CLEANING system. The system includes the innovative SMART ELEMENTS® filter system, which ensures superior filtration and cleanliness throughout the reflow process. In the peak zone, the SMART PYROLYSIS CLEANER effectively breaks down and removes contaminants, while the SMART CONDENSATION UNIT in the cooling zone further enhances the cleaning efficiency, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
