XJTAG®, a leading provider of test and programming solutions, is excited to announce the addition of support for FTDI’s JTAG controller hardware in version 4.3 of the XJTAG software suite. Using FTDI devices, compatible boards can be connected directly via USB, giving full JTAG control and boundary scan testing without the need for an XJLink JTAG controller.
Since many FPGA and CPU manufacturers are now fitting FTDI devices to their development boards for configuration and debug, having this support gives an excellent way for engineers to try XJTAG without needing to obtain any additional hardware. This also extends into production boards with FTDI devices fitted, allowing rapid programming and testing right on the production line with no external JTAG controller required.
Cloud based licencing allows frictionless free trials directly from the XJTAG website and easy transfer of licences between computers. To make it as easy as possible to get started, these trials give engineers immediate access to the full capabilities of the XJTAG Suite.
These capabilities include:
- Boundary scan testing with a TCK frequency up to 30 MHz (device dependent).
- Flash memory programming at world class speed with data rates of up to 7Mb/s seen in real world tests with pseudorandom data.
- XJAnalyser support, offering direct control of the pins on your JTAG devices.
- Additional programmable I/O connections (typically 4 – 12, depending on choice of FTDI device).
- All the features of XJDeveloper for creating projects.
