~ Long-time Staff Member and Customer-Focused Executive Shapes New Business Model as ECD President ~
ECD today announced that 26-year staffer, Tara Fischer, is now the exclusive owner and President of the company, a move that was finalized in late 2020. Since 2015, Fischer has co-owned ECD with a former employee, but now has complete oversight of all business strategy and activities. Backed by a knowledgeable and experienced leadership team, she has worked alongside ECD’s more than 150 global employees and distribution partners during the past several months to fundamentally transform the business approach, setting it on a course for even greater success in traditional and emerging markets.
“I’m really excited about what the future holds for ECD, our incredible team and our customers,” shares Fischer. “While 2020 was challenging, it was also an opportunity to focus on internal process refinement, improved go-to-market initiatives, a re-energized company culture, new product development and market expansion. All told, the last twelve months have been some of the most successful in ECD history.”
Over the past year, ECD has earned three industry awards for its service and technology, finalized OvenSENTINEL™ reflow continuous monitoring V2 software for a global rollout, developed and launched selective soldering test pallet SelectiveRIDER™, and penetrated new markets such as 3D printing and medical with its award-winning SmartDRY™ storage technology. The company’s influence in the baking sector has also expanded, with technology for baked goods optimization, as well as meaningful counsel and tools for legislative compliance. Finally, strategic personnel hires, enhanced communication channels, and continued service and support leadership have strengthened ECD’s customer partnerships in all regions.
Throughout her tenure, Fischer has held management positions within multiple business areas including finance, human resources, engineering and operations. Fischer’s entire professional career has centered on a ‘customer first’ approach, and she has worked to instill customer advocacy into the ECD team’s mindset, product development initiatives and, naturally, support and service programs. This philosophy and her hands-on style have earned Fischer praise and loyalty from employees, customers and partners.
“I’ve worked in just about every role in the business and am the first to pitch in for anything that needs attention – from long-term strategic planning to shipping products and entering orders,” says Fischer. “I believe good leaders should understand every facet of the company through personal engagement and I’d like to think modeling that behavior has had a small part in developing the close and committed team we have at ECD. I have no doubt that our best years lie ahead.”
