The Kreuzwertheim-based mechanical engineering group Kurtz Ersa has taken over the business operations of the insolvent equipment manufacturer ATV Technologie GmbH, based in Vaterstetten near Munich, as of September 1, 2025. For Kurtz Ersa, this is the strategic step into the market for production systems for the semiconductor industry that has been announced for some time. All ATV employees will be taken over. ATV will continue to do business under the name Kurtz Ersa Semicon GmbH.

The company is specialized in the development and distribution of high-quality vacuum soldering systems that impress with their precise temperature control and excellent homogeneity – essential for the requirements of the semiconductor and microelectronics industry.

The interdisciplinary team, consisting of engineers, physicists, and specialists in precision mechanics and electrical engineering, delivers customized solutions for universities, research institutes, laboratories, and leading manufacturing companies. The SRO-i-Line was developed for series production and offers significant advantages for semiconductor manufacturing thanks to its innovative infrared heating principle, particularly in growing future markets such as electromobility, renewable energies, and defense.

Thanks to Kurtz Ersa’s global sales, service and production network, new doors are opening for ATV´s technology and its employees. The aim of the new product segment – as with all segments at Kurtz Ersa – is to assume a leading role in the relevant market. To this end, the product range is to be modularized, expanded and marketed globally. A first appearance under the new Kurtz Ersa flag is planned in November 2025 at Productronica in Munich.

Thomas Mühleck, CEO of the Kurtz Ersa Group, sees ATV´s expertise as “the perfect entry into the semiconductor industry, which we have had on our strategic roadmap for some time. The high level of technological knowledge of the employees fits perfectly with our claim to be the No.1 for sustainable production solutions in our markets.”

Dr. Michael Fischer, who as CEO EPE is responsible for the “Electronics Production Equipment” business unit at Kurtz Ersa, sees ATV technology as “the perfect nucleus for our entry into the semiconductor world. The high level of technological expertise offers us the opportunity to generate significant growth with our global Kurtz Ersa network. There is also potential for synergies with the automation expertise for upstream and downstream processes related to semiconductor production already available within the Group. I am very much looking forward to the next steps and I am sure that ATV´s technology will be an integral part of Kurtz Ersa in the future.”
