Elevation Microsystems, delivering energy-efficient high-voltage power management solutions for sustainable electrification, backed by expertise in automotive power system architecture, functional safety, and advanced design, announce that Hyundai Mobis has acquired a significant stake in the company. The $15M investment was completed in November 2024, as disclosed in Hyundai Mobis’ 2024 business report to the Financial Supervisory Service’s electronic disclosure system (DART).
This strategic investment by Hyundai Mobis highlights the growing demand for advanced power semiconductors in the rapidly expanding electric vehicle market. Elevation Microsystems, known for its expertise in designing cutting-edge high-voltage power semiconductors, including silicon carbide (SiC) and GaN FETs with isolated gate drivers, and Matrix LED drivers is poised to support Hyundai Mobis in its efforts to enhance its technological capabilities and supply chain in the automotive sector.
“We are excited to welcome Hyundai Mobis as a shareholder in Elevation Microsystems,” said James Park, Global Chief Operating Officer and President of Elevation Microsystems Korea. “This investment reflects our commitment to advancing the development of next-generation power management technologies and reinforces our role as a key player in the electric vehicle semiconductor space.”
The partnership will enable Hyundai Mobis to strengthen its position in the automotive semiconductor market and accelerate its development of high-performance components critical to the future of electric vehicles and autonomous driving technologies. The demand for high-voltage power semiconductors, which are essential for efficient power management in EVs, continues to rise as the global automotive industry shifts toward electrification.
In addition to Hyundai Mobis’ investment, Elevation Microsystems also received a strategic investment from Navitas Semiconductor in 2024. Navitas investment reflects its strategic focus on expanding their electric vehicle market share and further strengthens the collaboration between the two companies. As electric vehicles and autonomous driving technologies continue to evolve, the role of power semiconductors is becoming increasingly critical to improving vehicle performance, efficiency, and safety.
“We look forward to continued collaboration with Hyundai Mobis and Navitas as we work together to drive the future of mobility through innovative semiconductor solutions,” added James Park. “This investment further validates the significant potential of our technology and the growing importance of power semiconductors in the EV sector.”
