Donaldson BOFA has launched a new mobile fume extraction system with articulated arms capable of filtering emissions associated with heavy-duty laser processes, soldering and organic solvents.
The AD 1500 iQ Dual Arms offers a functional reach of over 6ft (2m), thereby ensuring precision and operational flexibility in removing potentially harmful airborne contaminants on larger scale projects. The system also includes an integrated spark arrestor to reduce the risk of thermal events by capturing hot embers before they can enter the extraction system.
Josh Evans, Applications Engineer at Donaldson BOFA, commented: “This new system, with its extended reach, is being marketed worldwide as a filtration solution for multiple processes. It is ideally suited to extracting emissions in multiple laser operations, including welding, engraving, cleaning and marking, as well as filtering fume, gases and odors associated with adhesives, organic solvents and soldering.”
The extraction system also benefits from Donaldson BOFA’s Intelligent Operating System (iQ), providing access to real-time airflow readings, filter condition monitoring and remote diagnostics. A multi-stage filtration architecture includes a pre-filter, HEPA filter and carbon layer, with an extended exhaust box helping to reduce noise and air dispersion.
“As such, the AD 1500 iQ Dual Arms is a powerful extraction solution that combines precision with flexibility, thanks to its integrated technologies, extended reach and portability,” says Josh Evans.
