ITW EAE is proud to announce that it has earned a Vision Innovation Award for Camalot’s Tilt and Rotate dispensing technology. This new, innovative system reduces wet out areas, improves capillary flow for underfill and provides access to dispense on side walls, underneath, or around tall components. The award presented by SMT China Magazine recognizes the creativeness exhibited within the design. The judging panel comprises assembly-industry experts and downstream users of the entries nominated.
PCB designs are ever more challenging for dispensing with increased component densities, reduced material keep out zones, and a broad mix of component heights. The Prodigy’s Advanced Tilt and Rotate option solves all these challenges and more with its patented design and closed-loop operation that offers a higher level of control and functionality than alternatives.
State-of-the-art rotary actuators provide a fast, high precision, zero backlash mechanism that allows articulation of the dispense pump in sub-degree increments in both axes as many times as you need for total flexibility. Setup and calibration are automated functions that run after the machine has been initialized and/or if the pump has been removed and replaced. These routines ensure that the camera needle off sets at different angles and rotations are known.
“We are honored to be recognized with the highly sought after Vision Award for our innovative solution,” said Hugh Read, ITW EAE Dispenser Group Business Manager. “The Prodigy’s Advanced Tilt and Rotate option solves the challenges inherent in complex PCB designs with a high mix of component heights and will increase productivity and yields over alternatives.”
The Vision Awards honor visionary advancements in SMT assembly products and technologies that enable the electronics assembly industry to build better, more reliable products. Products were judged on their innovativeness and their contribution in helping the industry reduce costs, improve product quality, increase production efficiencies, and enhance product reliability.
The 16th Visionary Award Ceremony was originally planned to be held at NEPCON ASIA on November 30, 2022, but due to the postponement of the NEPCON exhibition caused by the epidemic, the Visionary Award Ceremony was also postponed. The Awards Presentation Ceremony has been rescheduled to be co-located with the Step-by-Step Technical Conference in Shenzhen on March 10, 2023.
