ITW EAE is proud to announce that it has earned a 2023 New Product Introduction (NPI) Award for Camalot’s Tilt and Rotate dispensing technology. This new, innovative system reduces wet out areas, improves capillary flow for underfill and provides access to dispense on side walls, underneath, or around tall components.

NPI Awards recognize the leading new products for electronics assembly during the past 12 months. Recipients are selected by an independent panel of practicing industry engineers. ITW EAE will be showcasing the Camalot Tilt and Rotate Technology on the Prodigy dispenser at IPC APEX booth 1106 through Thursday, January 26, 2023, in San Diego.

PCB designs are ever more challenging for dispensing with increased component densities, reduced material keep out zones, and a broad mix of component heights. The Prodigy’s Advanced Tilt and Rotate option solves all these challenges and more with its patented design and closed-loop operation that offers a higher level of control and functionality than alternatives.

State-of-the-art rotary actuators provide a fast, high precision, zero backlash mechanism that allows articulation of the dispense pump in sub-degree increments in both axes as many times as you need for total flexibility. Setup and calibration are automated functions that run after the machine has been initialized and/or if the pump has been removed and replaced. These routines ensure that the camera needle off sets at different angles and rotations are known.

We are honored to be recognized with the NPI Award for our innovative solution,” said Hugh Read, ITW EAE Dispenser Group Business Manager. “Advanced Tilt and Rotate for Camalot Prodigy Dispensers solves the challenges inherent in complex PCB designs with a high mix of component heights and enables reduced keep out zones required for high density boards. The system offer a higher level of precision and control than alternatives and provides virtually unlimited flexibility for current and future board designs.”
