Kurtz Ersa Inc., a leading supplier of electronics production equipment is pleased to announce that it has hired Ian Orpwood as its North American Director of Sales-Soldering Tools and Equipment. Orpwood comes to Ersa from OK International, a Dover Company, where he served as their Global Director of Sales for the last number of years. Prior to that, Ian worked for Pemro Distribution and Future Electronics. In his previous positions, working in distribution for 10 years and with a manufacturer for 12 years, Orpwood worked closely with end customers, manufacturers reps and distributors to find solutions through collaboration and relationship building. These are key pillars of Kurtz Ersa philosophy and go to market plans.
Orpwood brings technical and top-level customer service experience in Hand Soldering Tools, Robotic Soldering, Fume Extraction, Rework and Repair having worked for a Solder Equipment manufacturer. In addition, he has a broad knowledge of other bench top tools and materials having worked for National and Regional distributors. He has also held IPC certifications for solder rework and repair. He has extensive knowledge in channel management, primarily in North America but also Asia and Europe having lived and worked in USA, Canada, Hong Kong and UK.
