Arch® Systems, the leading provider of machine data and analytics for electronics assembly operations, received a 2022 CIRCUITS ASSEMBLY NPI Award in the category of Software – Process Control for its ArchFX Sessions Analysis Module. The award was announced during a special online ceremony on Thursday, Feb. 24, 2022.
“We are excited to see the ArchFX Platform recognized for a third industry award this year,” said Dave Trail, Arch VP of Sales. “It’s been amazing to watch this technology at work inside our customers’ facilities as adoption has exceeded even our expectations. We anticipate that trajectory to continue through an exciting time for manufacturing technology.”
The Sessions Analysis Module uses advanced algorithms to study every product cycle on all SMT lines. From this rich machine data, Sessions Analysis automatically knows which cycles should be identical because they are building the same product and provides an apples-to-apples comparison across thousands of occurrences of theoretically identical machine operations. This allows for automatic inference and builds the picture of a “golden cycle” for each product and on each line without any manual input.
Available in the Arch SMT Utilization Suite, Sessions Analysis automatically determines the root causes of low line utilization for any SMT line. Critically, Sessions Analysis eliminates the need for any manual data entry, including “standard cycle times” or manual annotations of “performance loss reasons”. The flexibility of the module allows for adaptations in a variety of other factory environments.
Based on this key data, Sessions Analysis classifies all of the structural losses inherent to the golden cycle. These include such losses as workload imbalances between machines, underutilized placement heads, loading and transfer delays, bottleneck steps outside chip mounting, etc. Sessions Analysis then separates out all transient operational losses on top of the structural operational losses and classifies them based on the rich state information and error codes reported from the machines.
Introduced in 2008, the NPI Awards program is an annual celebration of product excellence in electronics surface mount assembly. Premier products based on the finest examples of creative advancement in technology are chosen by a distinguished panel of industry experts.
Arch has built the largest collaboration of industry domain experts working hand-in-hand with data scientists to constantly map new signals in the data, adding them to the ever-growing library of operational analytics and recommendations. These signals and recommendations are changing how manufacturers tackle their most complex problems, allowing them to simplify and align actions both on the shop floor and the top floor. Arch is a recipient of the 2021 Global Technology and Mexico Technology Awards. The ArchFX Platform provides the machine connectivity, data management and advanced insights needed to achieve digital transformation across the manufacturing organization.
