Microscreen, a U.S. manufacturer specializing in high-precision SMT solder stencils and custom tooling solutions, has opened a new manufacturing facility in Baltimore, Maryland. The location is Microscreen’s third U.S. manufacturing facility and the second new location the company has opened this year.

Located at 1510 Caton Center Drive, Suite K, Baltimore, MD 21227, the new facility joins Microscreen’s longtime headquarters in South Bend, Indiana, and its recently opened facility in Oxford, Connecticut.

The Baltimore facility will manufacture laser-cut production stencils and step stencils and offer MicroGlide and MicroGlide Platinum nanocoatings. Equipment includes the Nevis and SE12 from Watt Laser, and a proprietary robotic nanocoating system, expanding Microscreen’s production, inspection and coating capabilities in the Mid-Atlantic.

“Opening our Baltimore facility is another big step in Microscreen’s growth,” said Nik Thomas, Director at Microscreen. “Having three manufacturing locations puts us closer to more customers while strengthening the stability of our supply chain. It gives us more flexibility to manage production across multiple facilities and continue meeting customer needs as we grow.”

Beyond manufacturing, Microscreen provides hands-on technical support, working directly with customers on stencil design, data review and application-specific requirements. Its technical team helps customers evaluate designs and make informed decisions to achieve consistent printing results.

MicroGlide Platinum, Microscreen’s advanced heat-fused nanocoating, is available at the Baltimore facility using a proprietary robotic nanocoating process. Applied to the stencil surface and aperture walls, the coating helps reduce paste adhesion, improve solder paste release and minimize underside cleaning. Microscreen’s MicroGlide wipe-on nanocoating is also available.

Baltimore follows the opening of Microscreen’s Oxford, Connecticut, facility earlier this year. Together with South Bend, the three locations establish a manufacturing network spanning the Midwest, Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. This expanded footprint is designed to increase capacity, improve production flexibility and provide customers with a more dependable source for their stencil needs.

“We’ve always been very hands-on with our customers, and that isn’t going to change as we grow,” said Steve Thomas, President of Microscreen. “Whether someone is working with our team in South Bend, Connecticut or Baltimore, we want them to be able to pick up the phone, talk to someone who understands what they’re working on and get an answer. That personal side of the business is still very important to us.”

Founded in 1981 and now led by the second and third generations of the Thomas family, Microscreen has built its reputation on precision manufacturing, technical expertise, responsive service and long-term customer relationships. The company is ISO 9001:2015 certified, ITAR registered and actively implementing CMMC compliance standards.
