Controlar will exhibit its latest PCB handling and test equipment at the 2026 APEX EXPO, taking place March 17-19, at the Anaheim Convention Center. Visitors to Booth 627 will be able to see live demonstrations of the XILS800 in-line handler, the Flash Handler, and a range of custom fixture solutions designed to support modern PCB testing and programming workflows.

XILS800: Versatile Solution for High-Demand Applications

The XILS800 handler is built for environments with high test point counts and larger printed circuit boards. It supports In-Circuit Testing (ICT), In-System Programming (ISP), and Functional Circuit Testing (FCT). The handler moves boards with an approximate handling time of 7 seconds, not including the test phase. Multiple units—including XILS600 and XILS1200—can be linked together to form a continuous in-line system.

The handler’s iron and aluminum structure is designed to withstand forces exceeding 15 kN, and it integrates with a wide range of test platforms such as Teradyne, Keysight, Checksum, and TRI. Fast setup and the ability to handle boards in parallel help simplify product changeovers and improve uptime on the production floor.

OLS400: Off-line Handling Solution for PCB Validation Applications

The OLS is a compact, semi-automatic handler designed for functional testing (FCT), boundary scan testing (BST), and other demanding PCB validation applications. Featuring a pneumatic press, it supports a wide range of bed-of-nails configurations and enables fast product changeovers through the QCO (Quick Change Over) system. Integrated control and monitoring via the MQTT protocol provide added flexibility and efficient operation.

Flash Handler: Compact System for In-Line ISP Programming

The Flash Handler, powered by SMH Technologies, is a compact solution focused on In-System Programming (ISP) and PCB programming applications. It supports a broad range of PCB dimensions, offers quick product changeovers, and can be connected in series with other handlers to create an in-line programming and test sequence. This makes it a practical choice where space and flexibility are key considerations.

Custom Fixture Solutions: Engineered for Your Product and Test Requirements

Controlar’s custom fixtures and tooling support ICT, FCT, ISP, and End-of-Line (EoL) testing. Designed for both in-line and off-line use, fixtures can operate mechanically, pneumatically, or with vacuum, and range from simple solutions with a few hundred probes to advanced assemblies featuring thousands of probes with dual-sided actuation. Fixtures are engineered not only for Controlar equipment but also for integration with third-party systems, ensuring reliable performance across different production setups.
