Surf-Tech Manufacturing Corp., a multi-faceted provider of contract manufacturing services, has added a NITROSWING® nitrogen generation system from NOVAIR to its production floor, giving customers more consistent soldering performance, improved process control, and reduced exposure to supply disruptions tied to bulk nitrogen deliveries.

The system is designed specifically for electronics manufacturing processes including SMT reflow, wave soldering, selective soldering, inerting, and dry storage. By generating nitrogen on site at purities up to 99.999%, Surf-Tech can maintain stable oxygen levels—from standard assembly requirements below 1,000 ppm to ultra-low O₂ environments used for high-reliability and aerospace assemblies.

For customers, this means more consistent solder joints, improved wetting, and repeatable results across production runs. Stable nitrogen purity helps reduce oxidation-related defects, supports tighter process windows, and improves overall yield—particularly on fine-pitch, BGA, and high-density assemblies.

The NITROSWING® system includes FlatFlow® gas distribution for consistent adsorption and purity, a Siemens® SIMATIC HMI touchscreen for real-time monitoring, and a built-in zirconium oxygen analyzer that does not require calibration. Its modular design allows capacity to be expanded as production demand increases, ensuring Surf-Tech can scale without disruption to customer programs.

By eliminating reliance on liquid nitrogen deliveries, Surf-Tech also reduces the risk of production interruptions caused by delivery delays, boil-off losses, or market-driven price increases.

Surf-Tech Manufacturing supports customers with surface mount and through-hole assembly, box build, BGA rework, and electro-mechanical integration. The company is ISO 9001:2015 certified, ITAR registered, and builds to IPC-A-610 Class 2 and Class 3 standards, ensuring consistent quality and compliance across a wide range of programs.
