Transition Automation, Inc., the leading provider of high-performance metal squeegee blades and holder systems, announces the introduction of the PrinTEK Micro-Max High performance SMT printer.
Building on a previous generation of printing equipment, the PrinTEK Micro-Max has been re-engineered to address demanding SMT production applications, including stepped stencil printing, large-board printing, and ultra-fine component printing.
As component apertures continue to shrink, modern automated SMT printers face increasing challenges in maintaining printing precision. At the same time, growing demand for high-value, medium-volume production has created a need for printing solutions capable of addressing these complex requirements. The PrinTEK Micro-Max has been specifically engineered to meet these evolving market demands.
Key design features include four synchronized cams that provide a smooth, non-linear stencil lift-off function, along with an integrated gear rack that maintains synchronization. All mechanical movements are supported by ball or needle bearings and incorporate spring-loaded anti-backlash systems. This precision engineering enables positioning repeatability of ±10 microns. The base system accommodates an 18 × 18-inch print area and utilizes a Permalex squeegee in a manual printing configuration.
Beyond its high-performance printing capabilities, the PrinTEK Micro-Max introduces a new platform with several industry-first features. The system can be upgraded to include a bench with an integrated stencil storage rack, dual-vision alignment cameras, double-sided printing capability, and an automatic squeegee system. Additional design features are intended to produce cleaner, more defined print images, helping manufacturers improve yields and reduce production costs in challenging large-board applications and other specialized micro-printing requirements.
