Quasys Europe will be exhibiting for the first time at SEMICON Europe in Munich from November 10 to 13, 2026. The focus of the exhibition will be on solutions for wafer processing and handling, as well as Quasys Europe’s role as the European representative for the Asian technology providers Grintimate Precision Industry Co., Ltd. and Longhill Industries. This positions Quasys Europe as a bridge between innovative Asian equipment manufacturers and the European semiconductor industry.
SEMICON Europa is one of the key European platforms for the semiconductor and microelectronics industries and will once again take place in 2026 alongside electronica at the Munich Trade Fair Center. For Quasys Europe, the event provides the ideal setting to present its expanded portfolio to a broad European audience of industry professionals for the first time. Quasys will therefore be represented at various partner booths. “With Quasys Europe, we are creating direct European access to specialized technologies for semiconductor manufacturing for our customers,” explains Rolf Nussbaumer, CEO of Quasys AG. “This is not just about selling individual machines. What matters most to us is supporting customers in selecting suitable technologies and solutions while also creating a reliable link to our manufacturing partners.”
Grintimate: Precision grinding for wafer processing
Grintimate is one of Quasys Europe’s new partners. The Taiwanese company develops and manufactures high-precision grinding systems and has its own hydrostatic technologies. Its product portfolio includes single and multi-spindle wafer grinders, as well as rotary surface grinders and cylindrical grinders. Process stability and precision play a central role, particularly when processing demanding and brittle-hard materials such as silicon, silicon carbide (SiC), sapphire, quartz, or ceramics. Grintimate’s hydrostatic technology operates without contact and is designed for low vibration and high stability. Depending on the system, additional features such as real-time thickness measurement, adaptive process control, automated wafer handling, and SECS/GEM connectivity are also available. As a result, the systems are suitable for applications including wafer thinning and the high-precision machining of materials for power semiconductors and other demanding semiconductor applications. Quasys Europe has taken over as Grintimate’s European representative, thereby providing users with a direct regional point of contact for the relevant technologies and applications.
Longhill: Solutions for wafer lamination and other process steps
The portfolio is complemented by solutions from Longhill Industries. Quasys Europe also serves as the representative for Longhill on the European market. The product portfolio addresses various process steps in semiconductor manufacturing and includes, for example, systems for the automated lamination of wafers. These include solutions for the application of back-grind tapes and photoresist films. A key technological focus is on vacuum lamination processes, in which film or tape and wafers are bonded together within a controlled vacuum environment.
By combining the technologies of Grintimate and Longhill, Quasys Europe is expanding its offerings across key process steps in wafer processing. This gives customers in Europe access to specialized equipment solutions as well as a regional point of contact to coordinate their individual process requirements. With the additional demo and evaluation opportunities at Quasys, Nussbaumer and his team are creating alternative ways for customers to explore and select products.
Technological expertise from Asia, a single point of contact in Europe
By representing both manufacturers in Europe, Quasys Europe aims to streamline collaboration between European semiconductor companies and specialized Asian technology providers. In doing so, Quasys Europe acts as an intermediary between users and manufacturers, from the initial technical brief through the selection of a suitable solution to ongoing project coordination. “Europe is increasingly investing in expanding its own semiconductor capabilities. At the same time, there is a very broad spectrum of specialized manufacturing technologies, particularly in Asia,” adds Nussbaumer. “We want to bring these two sides together and give European users access to technologies that can effectively complement their existing manufacturing processes.”
At SEMICON Europe, visitors can learn firsthand about Quasys Europe’s portfolio as well as the solutions offered by Grintimate and Longhill, and discuss specific requirements with the experts
