Seika Machinery, Inc., a leading provider of advanced machinery, materials and engineering services, is pleased to introduce the Slot-die Coater by infinityPV, a compact, state-of-the-art system designed for precise and consistent thin-film deposition on both rigid substrates and flexible foils.

Designed for researchers and developers, the Slot-die Coater is available in two platform sizes, Mini and Pro, and combines an ultra-smooth vacuum chuck, integrated drying, and a precision syringe pump into a single, compact unit that fits comfortably in standard laboratories, fume hoods, or gloveboxes. This design allows high-precision experimentation without the need for extensive lab modifications.

Slot-die coating delivers exceptional film uniformity and precise thickness control, with scalability from nanometer- to micrometer-scale films. The method is ideal for applications across multiple industries, including printed batteries, solar cells, fuel cells, pharma and medtech films, OLEDs, sensors, flexible electronics, and PCB coatings (excluding assembled boards).

The system features intuitive touchscreen and physical button controls for quick setup and easy operation. A diamond-milled microporous vacuum chuck secures substrates for uniform coatings across large areas, while integrated heating options allow in-situ drying without a separate dryer. The precision syringe pump provides controlled deposition for both organic and inorganic formulations, and micrometer head adjustment ensures accurate gap control between the head and substrate.

Designed for versatility, the Slot-die Coater supports multiple deposition methods — including slot-die coating, bar coating, knife coating, and flexo printing — from a single platform. Its modular design allows users to configure the system to their specific workflow. The Slot-die Coater is glovebox and fume hood compatible, CE certified, and CSA/UL compliant, and the Pro version can be upgraded to a hybrid roll-to-roll system by docking onto the Laboratory Roll-to-Roll Coater.

“The Slot-die Coater combines precision, flexibility, and lab-friendly design, making it an ideal tool for developing high-performance thin films across a wide range of applications,” said Michelle Ogihara, Executive VP, Seika Machinery. “Its compact footprint and modular design give researchers control over deposition processes while maintaining the versatility to expand into pilot-scale workflows when needed.”
