The Adaptsys Group will collaborate with V-TEK at IPC APEX EXPO 2026, demonstrating a fully integrated, in-line tape forming and automated tape-and-reel process. The joint demonstration will take place across Booths 1720 and 1721, where the two adjacent stands will operate as a shared demonstration space.

The live setup will show how on-demand carrier tape forming, automated pick-and-place, and inspection can be combined into a single, efficient workflow. The demonstration pairs Adaptsys’ Re-flex II on-demand tape forming system with a V-TEK TM-600 tape-and-reel machine, running in-line to illustrate the process and benefits of eliminating preformed tape inventory.

During the demonstration, small 3 mm x 3 mm QFN components will be picked by the TM-600 and placed directly into carrier tape that is being formed in real time by the Re-flex II system. This approach highlights the flexibility of on-demand tape production and the advantages of avoiding large volumes of preformed materials, including reduced waste, lower inventory costs, and faster changeovers.

In addition to the in-line tape-and-reel process, Adaptsys will showcase how 3D inspection can be used to verify carrier tape pocket geometry beyond standard EIA guidelines. The system provides precise, repeatable measurement of pocket dimensions and enables quick, automated generation of Certificates of Conformance (CoCs), supporting quality, traceability, and customer documentation requirements.

The joint demonstration reflects the growing demand for more agile, data-driven packaging processes, particularly for manufacturers handling high-value or sensitive components where accuracy, flexibility, and documentation are critical.

Attendees are invited to visit Booths 1720 and 1721 to see the combined Adaptsys and V-TEK solution in operation and to discuss how in-line tape forming, automated tape-and-reel, and inspection can improve efficiency and reduce material waste.
