Indium Corporation is proud to announce its 2026 Internship Program, introducing a do-it-yourself (DIY) format that allows students to shape a personalized professional experience based on their individual career goals and interests. This flexible approach ensures that each intern can focus on projects and skill development that matter most to them while gaining hands-on experience in a collaborative, innovative environment. By empowering students to take ownership of their learning, Indium Corporation strengthens its commitment to workforce development and helps prepare the next generation of global industry professionals in materials science and advanced manufacturing.

The DIY internship builds on the success of last year’s pilot program, providing a platform for students to engage in meaningful, applied work while contributing directly to Indium Corporation’s innovative projects. Regional and international students alike will have the opportunity to tackle real-world challenges, expand technical and professional skills, and develop a professional network that supports long-term career success.

The 10-week internship will run from June 1, 2026, to August 7, 2026, with locations varying by position across New York. The program is open to undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in the fall 2026 semester. Applicants are required to submit a resume along with a 500–1,000-word essay describing their interests and career goals.

Interns will work alongside industry experts and have the opportunity to design a program that aligns with their passions and professional aspirations. They will contribute to real-world projects that impact Indium Corporation’s operations and drive innovation, while benefiting from mentorship from experienced professionals eager to share knowledge and guidance. Beyond technical and professional skills, participants gain exposure to cross-functional collaboration, problem-solving in applied settings, and networking opportunities with peers, leadership, and industry professionals—all key components in workforce readiness.

“Our do-it-yourself internship program puts students in the driver’s seat of their professional development,” said Maria Vacca, Talent Specialist at Indium Corporation. “They can create a meaningful, customized experience that aligns with their career goals while gaining the skills and confidence they need to thrive in a rapidly evolving industry. This program is about more than internships—it’s about building the workforce of tomorrow.”

Emin Skiljan, a SUNY Poly student who interned with Indium Corporation in his sophomore and junior years and now works part-time with Indium Corporation while completing his degree, added: “My experience with Indium Corporation’s internship program was incredibly valuable. The projects were challenging and engaging, the mentorship was exceptional, and the opportunities to develop both technical and professional skills prepared me for the workforce in a way that classroom experience alone could not. This program really invests in students and helps build the talent pipeline for the future.”

Applications open October 20, 2025, and close December 5, 2025. Students interested in launching their careers through this unique, DIY internship opportunity are encouraged to apply early.
