Precision Valve & Automation (PVA) is pleased to announce that it has met full regulatory compliance for International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and is registered by the U.S. Department of State, Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC). ITAR is a set of U.S. government regulations administered by the Department of State that controls the export and import of defense-related articles, services and technical data listed on the United States Munitions List (USML).

“This important milestone reflects our ongoing commitment to meeting the highest standards in global security, compliance and manufacturing excellence,” said Rod Kasperson, vice-president of global sales and marketing for PVA. “ITAR compliance authorizes PVA to work with defense-related articles and services governed by the U.S. Department of State, enabling us to support a broader range of customers and industries, including aerospace and defense.”

All ITAR-controlled data is handled in accordance with regulatory requirements such as ensuring cloud data security and following guidelines for limiting access to information by foreign nationals. PVA personnel, including engineers and technicians, have been vetted and trained to handle sensitive data and to ensure full compliance with ITAR. Other compliance measures include tightly supervised visitor management procedures and protocols, which have been implemented at the PVA headquarters in Halfmoon, New York; its two offices in China; and its Guadalajara office.

The established compliance program is expected to open new business opportunities for PVA that require ITAR-compliant partners.
