PBT Works s.r.o., a leading manufacturer of cleaning technology for electronic assemblies and tooling, is pleased to announce that Vladimír Sítko, Founder, Mentor & Co-Owner, will present during the Electronics in Harsh Environments Conference. The presentation, “Implementation of the Organic Carbon Sensor (OCS) in the cleaning of electronic assemblies,” will take place Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at the Park Plaza Victoria Amsterdam.
Electrochemical reliability depends not only on ionic cleanliness but also on different organic surface contaminants. PBT Works has developed and tested an Organic Carbon Sensor (OCS) to monitor organic residues in the rinse water. This presentation demonstrates two practical applications of OCS: Final non-ionic cleanliness monitoring and monitoring of absorption filters (active carbon) in a closed-loop type of cleaning system.
So far, machines could not register the active carbon filters exhaustion on the machine. We could only learn the consequences of insufficient cleaning of the cleaned assembly through surface tension measurement, optical inspection, or other laboratory measurements like degassing tests. The OSC opens new possibilities in the monitoring of rinsing quality. The introduction of OCS into the cleaning process is a further step to improve the reliability of critical assemblies.
PBT Works is EN ISO 9001 and EN ISO 14001 certified.
