Novagard, a US-based silicone manufacturer and the market leader in UV/dual cure silicone technology, recently signed a new strategic distribution agreement with Epoxy Technology Europe. Epoxy Technology Europe is part of the Electronics Division of Meridian Adhesives Group. Both companies are at Productronica 2021 in Munich this week to promote the role silicone adhesives play in the global “electrification of everything” – from automotive and battery systems to consumer electronics and wearable medical devices.

Epoxy Technology Europe will distribute Novagard’s entire line of electronics-grade silicones and industrial adhesive/sealants, lubricants, encapsulants, pottants, optically clear coatings, and thermal management materials.

“We’re excited by the possibilities this partnership brings to our two organizations,” said Jason Clark, Novagard’s VP of Electronics and EV. “As we continue to innovate our offering of UV curable silicones, build our alkoxy-based platform, and advance our thermal management materials, it’s vital that we have an established distribution partner who is a leader in the European market.”

Novagard offers the broadest line of UV/dual cure silicones in the market today. Whether the need is to coat printed circuit boards or pot electronic components, Novagard’s portfolio delivers flexibility with high-speed UV cure, UV/dual cure, alkoxy, and addition cure silicones. Available in varying viscosities, with customizable physical properties and cure times, each Novagard product provides excellent adhesion to electronics plastics and metals, including low-energy substrates like PTE.

“Our Epoxy Technology Europe team is looking forward to expanding what is already a successful business relationship with Novagard,” said Brandon Willis, President of the Electronics Division of Meridian Adhesives Group. “Novagard’s advanced product line matches the high level of quality and innovation we provide our customers. That, along with Novagard’s fantastic reputation, make this partnership a win for both organizations which will benefit the electronics market for years to come.”

Silicones offer superior performance for the manufacture of densely packed electronic devices. With a wide variety of cure chemistries available, silicone-based compounds provide excellent electrical insulation properties, vibration damping, and barrier protection against weather and other intrusions in electronics applications. Many industries depend on silicones to seal, bond, and encapsulate electrical parts in order to protect delicate components and modules, enhance their reliability, and extend the useful life of their products.
