MicroCare has introduced FRC2 General Purpose Flux Remover, a next-generation, HFC-free cleaner designed to deliver powerful, reliable removal of no-clean and rosin fluxes from electronic assemblies and components.
FRC2 replaces the MicroCare FRC General Purpose Flux Remover, which is being discontinued. The new formulation provides electronics manufacturers with a versatile cleaning solution for both benchtop and bulk cleaning applications while eliminating HFCs from the chemistry.
“FRC2 builds on the cleaning performance customers have come to expect from FRC while providing an updated chemistry for today’s electronics manufacturing environment,” said Vince Libercci, MicroCare National Sales Manager. “It gives manufacturers a fast, easy-to-use way to remove flux without leaving residue or requiring a rinse.”
Powerful Cleaning Without the Rinse
FRC2 is formulated to effectively remove no-clean and rosin fluxes from a wide range of electronic assemblies, including through-hole, surface-mount technology (SMT) and ball grid array (BGA) boards, hybrids, cables and connectors. Its fast evaporation helps minimize processing time, while its residue-free performance eliminates the need for a secondary rinsing step.
FRC2 offers several benefits for electronics manufacturers and repair operations:
- Fast-drying: Helps streamline cleaning and reduce processing time.
- Nonflammable: Supports safer handling and use.
- Non-corrosive: Helps protect components and assemblies.
- No residue, no rinsing: Simplifies cleaning processes and eliminates a secondary rinse step.
- ESD-safe: Suitable for use around sensitive electronic assemblies.
- Broad material compatibility: Safe for use on most plastics and compatible with materials including epoxies, nylon, polyethylene and polypropylene.
- Versatile application: Suitable for benchtop and bulk cleaning applications.
- TriggerGrip™ compatible: The aerosol format works with the MicroCare TriggerGrip™ Cleaning Tool for convenient, controlled application.
The cleaner is suitable for use on most electronic components and materials, including surface-mount components.
HFC-Free Chemistry for Electronics Cleaning
FRC2 features an HFC-free cleaning blend designed to deliver effective flux removal without hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs). This formulation update gives electronics manufacturers an added choice as they evaluate cleaning chemistries and respond to evolving regulatory requirements and environmental considerations.
FRC2 is also ozone-safe and has a medium global warming potential (GWP). Its combination of cleaning performance, fast drying and nonflammability makes it a practical choice for electronics assembly, rework, repair and maintenance operations.
A Modern Alternative to FRC
As the replacement for FRC General Purpose Flux Remover, FRC2 provides customers with a straightforward transition to updated HFC-free cleaning chemistry while maintaining versatile flux-removal capabilities.
FRC2 is available in aerosol and bulk liquid formats. The aerosol is suited to benchtop rework, repair and maintenance, while the liquid can be used in cold dip-and-wipe applications for larger components, assemblies and production cleaning tasks. The bulk liquid is available in multiple package sizes to accommodate different operational needs.
For added cleaning consistency and contamination control, MicroCare also offers a range of compatible lint-free cleaning wipes to support electronics manufacturing and repair processes.
