Austin American Technology (AAT) has been named a 2026 New Product Introduction (NPI) Award winner in the Cleaning Equipment category for its Typhoon Super T8 inline cleaner. The 2026 NPI Award recognition reflects AAT’s continued focus on delivering flexible, production-ready cleaning solutions for high-reliability electronics manufacturing.

The Typhoon Super T8 is the latest addition to AAT’s Typhoon inline cleaner family, building on the original T8 platform. Designed specifically for chemical cleaning applications, the Super T8 features a dual-wash configuration that delivers consistent impingement across the full width of the conveyor. It also incorporates the largest isolation section currently available in an inline cleaner, while maintaining a compact production footprint.

A distinguishing feature of the Super T8 is its modular design. Manufacturers operating an existing water-soluble inline cleaner can install the Super T8 ahead of their current system, creating a single line capable of both chemical and aqueous cleaning. This approach is especially valuable for contract manufacturers handling a wide product mix, allowing chemical cleaning to be used only when required and helping reduce overall chemistry consumption and cycle time.

The Super T8 operates on a Linux-based control platform and supports CFX, MES, and smart factory connectivity. A standard 24-inch usable belt width accommodates a broad range of board sizes. Dual high-pressure wash pumps and strategically positioned spray bars ensure uniform cleaning performance across the conveyor.

The system is commonly selected for defense, aerospace, and microelectronics applications, where cleaning consistency is critical as assemblies become smaller and more complex.

The NPI Awards, presented by CIRCUITS ASSEMBLY, recognize the most innovative products introduced to the electronics assembly industry over the past year. Winners are selected by an independent panel of practicing engineers who evaluate equipment based on innovation, functionality, and impact on manufacturing performance.
