The SMTA announced that the technical program of their annual conference, SMTA International, is finalized and registration is now open. The event will be held October 20 – 24, 2024 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL, USA.

The five-day conference includes the latest electronics manufacturing research and technology from major manufacturers such as AMD, Northrop Grumman, General Dynamics, Rockwell Automation, Honeywell FM&T, IBM Corporation, Intel Corporation, John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group, Lockheed Martin, Nhanced Semiconductors, Nokia Bell Labs, NXP Semiconductors, Sandia National Laboratories, several global universities, and more.

100 presentations are organized into the following technical tracks:

  • Advanced Packaging (APT)
  • Additively Manufactured Electronics (AME)
  • Low Temperature Solder (LTS)
  • Manufacturing for Excellence (MFX)
  • Reliability and Harsh Environments (RHE)
  • Test and Inspection (INS)
  • Women’s Leadership Program (WLP)

Attendees can also choose from 11 Professional Development Courses for more in-depth training. Courses are spread over the afternoons of the first three days of the conference. Topics include Microelectronics Packaging Technologies, Low Temperature Soldering, Component Quality and Traceability, Failure Analysis, Thermal Interface Materials, Intermetallic Compounds, Analytical Techniques, SMT Process Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Assembly Best Practices, and Ultra HDI PCB Technology.

The annual Women’s Leadership Program is planned for Monday, October 21. This complimentary program features AI-related presentations from women leaders in the electronics industry, a panel discussion of former and current SMTA female leaders, speed mentoring sessions, and a connection reception.

On October 22-24, the SMTA International Exposition will showcase equipment and materials from electronics manufacturing technology solutions providers. Attendees to the expo will also have access to The ASSEMBLY Show, which is co-located at the convention center. More than 300 exhibiting companies and over 5000 attendees are expected to participate across the two shows combined, bringing together one of the largest audiences of assembly and electronics manufacturing professionals in the Midwest.

In celebration of the SMTA’s 40-year anniversary, the association will host a party called “Back to 1984” on Wednesday, October 23 from 6:30pm-9:00pm at Kings Rosemont. Tickets can be purchased separately or when registering to attend the conference and expo.
