Microscreen, a U.S. manufacturer specializing in high-precision SMT solder stencils and custom tooling solutions, has received a 2026 Global Technology Award in the Stencils category for its MicroGlide Platinum Nanocoated Stencils. The award was presented during the Global Technology Awards ceremony held in conjunction with SMTA International in Rosemont, Illinois.
MicroGlide Platinum is an advanced nanocoating that is heat-fused to the stainless steel surface and aperture walls. The heat-fusing process creates a durable bond designed to resist cracking, chipping and flaking while providing longer coating life than traditional wipe-on coatings.
For stencil printing, MicroGlide Platinum helps solder paste release more easily from apertures and reduces paste adhesion to the stencil. That can mean more consistent paste deposits, less buildup and less frequent underside cleaning. These benefits become especially important on fine-pitch designs where clean, consistent paste release can be more difficult.
“Winning this award means a lot because MicroGlide Platinum came from looking at something our customers deal with every day and finding a better way to address it,” said Steve Thomas, President of Microscreen. “We wanted a nanocoating that not only improves paste release, but also lasts. The heat-fused process is what really sets MicroGlide Platinum apart.”
MicroGlide Platinum builds on more than 45 years of stencil and screen manufacturing at Microscreen. Today, the company manufactures laser-cut, step and chemically etched stencils, screens and nanocoated stencils, while also providing stencil design support and custom PCB tooling.
Since 2005, the prestigious Global Technology Awards have recognized the absolute best new innovations in the printed circuit assembly and packaging industries. It brings together the global SMT and advanced packaging industry in a celebration of the companies and people that are achieving the highest standards and driving our industry forward.
