Focus on Components will debut alongside Focus on PCB, the printed circuit board show covering PCB, PCBA and EMS, on 21 and 22 April 2027 in Vicenza. The two specialised and complementary events, organised by NürnbergMesse Italia, will create a new electronics ecosystem and generate more networking and business opportunities across the electronics supply chain.

Danny D’Alessandro, Managing Director of NürnbergMesse Italia, said: “Our goal is to create a meeting place for everyone in the electronics supply chain. Having consolidated our PCB, PCBA and EMS event, the creation of Focus on Components for the components sector is a decisive step on that journey”.

Electronic components are everywhere nowadays. They are essential in strategic sectors such as aerospace and defence, as well as in industry and a growing number of everyday products. They play a vital role in technological innovation and industrial development.

The sector is undergoing a period of rapid change, partly driven by growing demand linked to artificial intelligence. According to the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA), global semiconductor sales — one of the key segments of the electronic components market — surpassed $1 trillion for the first time in the first eight months of 2026, with forecasts exceeding $1.6 trillion for the full year.
In this scenario, dialogue between manufacturers, distributors, and end users is crucial for addressing the challenges of selecting, sourcing, and ensuring the availability of electronic components.

To meet the needs of this market, NürnbergMesse Italia is launching Focus on Components: a new B2B event dedicated to electronic components. It will take place alongside Focus on PCB on 21 and 22 April 2027 in Vicenza, Italy.

An event for those who select and buy electronic components

The new event was developed in response to a need voiced by industry operators for a specialised platform in Italy that would bring together component manufacturers, distributors and service providers with designers, R&D teams, technical managers and buyers from the main application sectors.

It will focus on those who specify, evaluate and purchase components, including hardware designers, purchasing managers and the technical and procurement teams of EMS companies. The exhibition will cover semiconductors, passive components, sensors, connectors, power and RF/wireless, as well as lifecycle management, obsolescence and sourcing services.

“The Italian market needs opportunities to engage with the local industrial landscape and build potential synergies at a national level,” comments Cosimo Musca, President of ANIE Componenti Elettronici, the event’s patron. “Focus on Components is in line with our association’s mission, and we are pleased to support an initiative that encourages networking among industry professionals, sharing knowledge and updating technology, thereby strengthening the competitiveness of the Italian electronics sector.”

An ecosystem serving the electronics supply chain

Focus on PCB has established itself as a meeting point for the PCB (printed circuit board), PCBA (printed circuit board assembly) and EMS (electronic manufacturing services) industries.

With Focus on Components, NürnbergMesse Italia is expanding its Vicenza exhibition project to create an electronics ecosystem comprising two specialised events, each with its own identity and complementary perspective.

Together, the two shows provide a comprehensive overview of the electronics supply chain and facilitate valuable networking opportunities, meeting the demands of an industry that increasingly requires integration between design, sourcing, and production.

The two events will take place in adjacent halls, and visitors will be able to access both with a single ticket.

“Over the years, we have built Focus on PCB into an event that the electronics industry now considers indispensable. The journey is ongoing, and Focus on Components is the next logical step in the development of our project. It enables us to expand networking and business opportunities while maintaining the specialisation and identity of each event and capitalising on the synergies between them.,” says Danny D’Alessandro, Managing Director of NürnbergMesse Italia.

“From the outset, we believed in the value of a highly specialised event like Focus on PCB, and we are delighted to see the project grow with the arrival of Focus on Components,” comments Luca Giovelli of Assodel’s PCB Group, promoter of Focus on PCB. “Holding the two events at the same time will enrich our offering to visitors and may attract new professional profiles, creating further business opportunities for Focus on PCB exhibitors, too.”

“The addition of Focus on Components to NürnbergMesse Italia’s portfolio enhances the variety of technology and industrial events held at the Vicenza exhibition centre,” says Fabio De Santis, Event & Conference Director at IEG (Italian Exhibition Group), which organises the event. “This new specialised event on electronic components, taking place alongside Focus on PCB, gives us the opportunity to further showcase the skills of the local area and the role of our venue in serving industrial supply chains.”

Young talents from the Politecnico di Milano designed the visual identity of Focus on Components

At a time when the gap between young people, education, and the world of work is becoming more apparent, NürnbergMesse Italia has promoted young talent and raised the profile of Politecnico di Milano from the outset.

The Focus on Components logo is the result of a collaboration with the School of Design at Politecnico di Milano, involving students on the Master’s degree programme in Event Design to create the event’s visual identity.

The project is based on the idea that while the PCB provides the structure that connects, it is the components that determine the functions and performance of a system. This concept is expressed through the combination of a microchip and a brain, symbols of technology and human ingenuity respectively.

“Working with a highly technological sector such as electronic components was a stimulating challenge for our students, who approached it with curiosity, creativity, and great commitment,” says Professor Luca Fois of Politecnico di Milano. “We are particularly pleased that an international company like NürnbergMesse chose to involve young people in a real project. It shows how dialogue between university and business can deliver concrete results.”

Main Media Partner

Focus on Components has chosen FW Communication, the company publishing specialist magazines Elettronica AV and Elettronica Tech, to be its main media partner. The magazines will support the event through their editorial and communication activities.

Focus on PCB returns to Vicenza on 21–22 April 2027

Organised by NürnbergMesse Italia, promoted by Assodel’s PCB Group and hosted by IEG – Italian Exhibition Group, Focus on PCB is the event dedicated to the PCB, PCBA and EMS supply chain. It is supported by the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) and ANIE Componenti Elettronici and recognised by the Veneto Region as an event of international relevance.
The fifth edition, held in Vicenza on 13 and 14 May 2026, saw a 10% increase in attendance compared to 2025.
