IPG Photonics will present laser technologies and system solutions for key manufacturing processes in battery and e-mobility production at The Battery Show Europe 2026 in Stuttgart. The focus will be on solutions for battery welding, laser cleaning and industrial laser processing used in the production of battery cells, modules, electrical contacts and components for electric vehicles.
“Process stability and repeatability are critical factors in battery welding and surface preparation when it comes to ensuring the quality of downstream manufacturing processes. At The Battery Show, we will demonstrate how laser technologies can help implement these requirements reliably in production,” explains Daniel Lück, Business Development Director at IPG Photonics.
One of the highlights of IPG Photonics’ trade show appearance is the SYS-3000-EV battery welding system. The compact laser processing platform is designed for the development, validation and optimisation of battery welding processes. It enables users to perform welding trials on battery cells, modules and electrical contacts, evaluate process windows and derive suitable parameters for later series production.
For demanding welding applications, IPG Photonics will also present the YLS 3000-5000-SM-AMB. The Adjustable Mode Beam technology combines a high-intensity core beam with an additional ring beam, enabling targeted stabilisation of the melt pool. This allows welding processes to be controlled more precisely at high processing speeds while reducing typical challenges such as spatter, porosity and cracking. This is particularly important when processing reflective and sensitive materials in battery manufacturing.
“Battery production places high demands on precision, process stability and scalability. This is exactly where our laser technologies come into play,” says Daniel Lück.
In addition, IPG Photonics will showcase laser cleaning solutions such as the Clean Laser CL1000iF, matching optics and an application module. The technology is suitable for applications in which surfaces must be specifically prepared or cleaned before downstream process steps. In battery production, reproducible surface quality contributes to stable connections, reliable process windows and consistent manufacturing results.
In the field of laser processing, IPG Photonics will also present the YLS 12000-RI-CT as well as an LDD model. This provides visitors with a compact overview of laser sources and process approaches for industrial manufacturing environments with high demands on precision, performance and integration capability.
During personal discussions with the experts from IPG Photonics, visitors will be able to discuss specific manufacturing requirements and obtain information about suitable laser sources, process equipment and system concepts for their applications. IPG Photonics will exhibit at The Battery Show Europe 2026 in Stuttgart from 9 to 11 June 2026 in Hall 1, Booth B50.
